Products For Natural Hair Color

Article by Blain Gowing

Hair dyes are the most used products to color the hair. Natural dyes made from herbal extracts are free from chemical agents like peroxides, ammonia and coal tar and have low allergenic potential. Synthetic dyes rich in peroxide and ammonia open up the cuticle and damage hair. They also contain carcinogenic compounds that are very harmful for the health of your hair. Natural dyes come in a variety of shades and you can also try out newer shades by mixing, blending or processing the various plant extracts for that perfect color.

Some natural hair coloring tips:

Blend 1/2 cup vinegar with 1/4 cup soya sauce for 15-20 minutes to highlight the color of dark hair.Rinse your hair with red cranberry juice for a reddish tinge.Blending 3 tablespoons of vinegar or fresh lemon juice with the henna paste, gives a golden or coppery tinge to your hair.Apply an egg yolk or a whole egg to add shine to the hair. Use egg yolk if the hair is dry and apply the whole egg for oily hair.To deepen the color of the henna, grind ½ tablespoon of dry whole cloves and addto henna pasteTo condition and moisturize dry and coarse hair, mix 2 to 4 tablespoons of olive oilMix 1 tablespoon of cognac with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to provide a reddish tinge to the henna-applied hair.Synthetic hair dyes are responsible for a high risk of allergic sensitization to the scalp skin. There are many prominent categories like metallic dyes, semi-permanent hair dyes etc. Metallic dyes contain lead compounds. The semi-permanent hair dyes or coal tar-based hair dyes may contain mutagens which could damage the hair. Also, these chemicals induce irritation in the eyes, nose, and throat. These dyes also contain carcinogenic substances which can cause cancer. Further, some of the chemical hair dyes can cause damage to the hair if used incorrectly. Try to use natural hair care products, if you do not want to suffer from the side effects of harmful chemicals. Select any one of the natural hair coloring tips which suits your hair type for the best results.

Q&A: How do I find my natural hair color again?

Question by x3: How do I find my natural hair color again?
For the past 3 years or so, I’ve been dying my hair every 2 or 3 months. Amazingly, my hair isn’t damaged. Probably due to tons of deep conditioning. But Since June, I’ve been trying to get my hair back to the natural color. I’ve tried 3 or 4 different colors, but none of them match. They always look really close to my roots, but it’s mainly cause my hair has ashy colors in it. Will I have to keep dying it to find the natural color again? Or what do I do? My hairs thinning out at the bottom. Help, please!
I don’t want to have inches of roots either from not dying…
